Ever since I
learned about this girl’s victory in Pilipinas Got Talent Auditions, I never
wasted any moment and started campaigning for her. I followed her up to the
grand finals. Yes guys. She was my
inspiration as I wrote this piece.
I wouldn’t talk
about her life; but as you go on reading, you’ll soon discover the many reasons
as to why this girl had given me much inspiration.
The song is
great, isn’t it? But more than this
masterpiece is the quality of heart rendered as it was sung. My heart is
almost always filled with compassion as I listen to this. It’s the kind of thing that you feel when you
know God is with you. It couldn’t be
heaven-like; but yes, it is. And for
multiple reasons, why this song? Why
this girl?
“You are not
alone”. Do you hear God whispering this
to you? In every season of our lives,
the presence of God accompanies us, His soothing voice comforting us, His
saving grace assuring us of a decent and fantastic life. It has been God’s lullaby to me since I was a
child. It was then when I heard this
song and loved it instantly. In the
midst of turmoil and affliction, in the splendor of pure mirth and delight, we
are never alone. We have our precious
Father as our constant companion.
“Why this
girl?” This query is more of a statement
delivered in total admiration. I agree
that we are all God’s favorites. But
this girl He made into one great person with an extraordinary talent and little
do we know about her life. Raised with
love and compassion from an underprivileged family, she made it a goal to perfect
her gift, triumph in prestigious talent competitions such as PGT (Pilipinas Got
Talent) and bring prosperity to her family to alleviate the status of their
life; plain but definitely kind-hearted, her innocent benevolence creating
ripples of positive things in her life.
This great song
(originally sung by Michael Jackson) and the heart put into it while it was rendered
struck me the most. It made me look at
God up close. While I envision this girl
as an angel whom God entrusted to sing it to us, I do feel God reminding me of
the times when I just willingly abandoned Him. He is here with me. Far as I may seem, God is here to stay. When life gets tough and I feel empty, God
whispers these words to me, “You are not alone”. I couldn’t care less about it. The pushing is just too strong. This song He made so real that it gave more
meaning to His message to me, to Renagine (the name of the girl) and to
everybody.
Every day I sit and ask
myself “How did love slip away?” Something whispers in my ear and says that…
“You are
not alone
for I am
here with you.
Though
we’re far apart
you’re
always in my heart.
You are
not alone.
I am here
with you.
Though
you’re far away
I am here
to stay.”
